Ancaine Antacid Gel 170 ml Substitute

Ancaine Antacid Gel 170 ml is a combination of three drugs: Aluminium hydroxide (antacid), magnesium hydroxide (antacid) and oxetacaine (local anaesthetic). Aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide work by neutralising excess stomach acid. Oxetacaine exerts a numbing effect, thereby providing relief from pain due to ulcers or acidic injury in the stomach.

Do not take Ancaine Antacid Gel 170 ml for longer durations unless prescribed by the doctor. Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better even after taking Ancaine Antacid Gel 170 ml for a few days.

Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Ancaine Antacid Gel 170 ml. Drink lots of fluids and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or experience severe diarrhoea, consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.

Avoid lying down immediately after meals to prevent acidity. Raise the head of the bed 10-20cm by putting a pillow so that the head and chest are above the waist. This prevents acid reflux.

To treat your condition effectually, continue taking Ancaine Antacid Gel 170 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you experience any difficulty while taking Ancaine Antacid Gel 170 ml.
