Ayatel Beta 40mg/25mg Tablet is a combination of two blood pressure-lowering medicines: Telmisartan and Metoprolol succinate. Telmisartan belongs to the class of drugs called Angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It works by blocking the angiotensin II receptor, thereby relaxing the blood vessels and lowering the blood pressure. Metoprolol succinate belongs to the class of drugs known as beta-blockers. It helps to reduce blood pressure by allowing the blood to flow more smoothly. Together, Ayatel Beta 40mg/25mg Tablet helps in lowering blood pressure to normal.
Ayatel Beta 40mg/25mg Tablet contains Telmisartan and Metoprolol Succinate. Telmisartan works by blocking the angiotensin II receptors. Angiotensin II constricts the blood vessels, so by blocking its effect, Telmisartan allows the blood vessels to relax and widen. Metoprolol Succinate helps to reduce blood pressure by allowing the blood to flow more smoothly. Together, Ayatel Beta 40mg/25mg Tablet helps in reducing the blood pressure to normal.
Ayatel Beta 40mg/25mg Tablet may cause a slow heart rate (bradycardia). A minor fluctuation should not be a worry; however, if a slow heart rate continues and you begin to feel unwell, speak with your doctor.
Ayatel Beta 40mg/25mg Tablet may alter potassium levels. Therefore, inform your doctor if you are taking food rich in potassium, such as potassium-containing salt substitutes or over-the-counter potassium supplements.
Please do not stop taking Ayatel Beta 40mg/25mg Tablet without consulting your doctor as it may lead to a rise in blood pressure. Continue taking Ayatel Beta 40mg/25mg Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it to you. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you experience any difficulty while taking Ayatel Beta 40mg/25mg Tablet.
Orthostatic hypotension could be a side-effect of Ayatel Beta 40mg/25mg Tablet. Orthostatic hypotension is a sudden lowering in blood pressure leading to dizziness on standing. If you experience this, do not try to stand up suddenly or start walking, instead lie down and get up slowly only when you feel better. People taking Ayatel Beta 40mg/25mg Tablet are advised to monitor their blood pressure levels regularly to avoid unpleasant events.
