Medicinal Benefits:

Manibac Tablet DT belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat various bacterial infections of the urinary tract, ear, throat, lungs, and uncomplicated gonorrhoea. Manibac Tablet DT is a combination of two antibiotics, namely: Cefixime (cephalosporin antibiotic) and Clavulanic acid (beta-lactamase inhibitor). Cefixime works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, kills the bacteria and helps in treating and preventing the spread of infections. Clavulanic acid works by enhancing the activity of cefixime against bacteria and decreases bacterial resistance. Together, Manibac Tablet DT helps to treat bacterial infections. Manibac Tablet DT does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.

Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Manibac Tablet DT. Drink lots of fluids and eat food rich in fibre if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience prolonged diarrhoea with abdominal pain, stop taking Manibac Tablet DT and consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.

It is recommended to complete the course of Manibac Tablet DT even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will, in fact, stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance).

It is safe to give Manibac Tablet DT to a child if prescribed by the doctor. The dose and duration may vary depending upon the age and severity of the infection.
