Monocef O DT 100 mg Tablet belongs to the group of cephalosporin antibiotics indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, including infections of the lungs, throat, tonsils, and sinus cavities. Monocef O DT 100 mg Tablet contains 'Cefpodoxime', which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Monocef O DT 100 mg Tablet works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (cell wall), which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, Monocef O DT 100 mg Tablet kills the bacteria and helps in treating bacterial infections.

Monocef O DT 100 mg Tablet may cause diarrhoea. Give the child water and non-spicy food if they experience diarrhoea. Consult a doctor if the condition persists or worsens.
To treat the condition effectually, it is recommended to complete the course of Monocef O DT 100 mg Tablet even if the child feels better. Leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will, in fact, stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance).
