Oflo Eye Ointment 5 gm contains Ofloxacin used to treat bacterial eye infections. Oflo Eye Ointment 5 gm inhibits DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, kills bacteria and clears the infection.
Oflo Eye Ointment 5 gm works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, kills bacteria and clears the infection.
You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using Oflo Eye Ointment 5 gm as it contains benzalkonium chloride, a preservative that changes the colour of contact lens as it may be absorbed by soft contact lens. Benzalkonium chloride also causes irritation in the eye especially if you have disorders of cornea (transparent layer at the front of eye) or dry eyes. Therefore, you are advised to remove contact lenses before using Oflo Eye Ointment 5 gm and reinsert them after 15 minutes after using Oflo Eye Ointment 5 gm. Also, inform your doctor if you experience pain, stinging or abnormal sensation in the eye after using Oflo Eye Ointment 5 gm.
Oflo Eye Ointment 5 gm may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. Therefore, you are recommended to wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating machinery.
Oflo Eye Ointment 5 gm is not used to treat fungal infection in the eye. Oflo Eye Ointment 5 gm is only used to treat bacterial eye infections.
You are not recommended to stop using Oflo Eye Ointment 5 gm without consulting your doctor as it may worsen the infection. Therefore, use Oflo Eye Ointment 5 gm for as long as your doctor has prescribed it and if you experience any difficulty while using Oflo Eye Ointment 5 gm, please consult your doctor.
