About Becgis Lotion
Becgis Lotion is a dermatological medication primarily used to treat fungal infections, such as ringworm of the foot (tinea pedis or athlete's foot), ringworm of the groin (tinea cruris or jock itch), and ringworm of the body (tinea corporis). Fungal infection occurs when a fungus invades and affects the tissue on the skin. Symptoms of a fungal infection include skin rash, irritation, redness and scaling of the skin.
Becgis Lotion is composed of two medicines: Clotrimazole (antifungal) and Beclomethasone (steroid). Clotrimazole stops the growth of fungi by causing damage and leakage to the fungal cell membrane. Beclomethasone belongs to the class of corticosteroids, which blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen and itchy. Thereby, Becgis Lotion helps treat fungal infections.
Becgis Lotion is for topical (for skin) use only. If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose, mouth or vagina, rinse with cold water. Becgis Lotion may cause common side effects such as itching, dryness, redness, and burning sensation at the application site. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually overtime. However, if the side effects are persistant, consult your doctor.
Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions to Clotrimazole, Beclomethasone or any other medications. Do not put dressing or bandage on the affected area since it increases the risk of side effects. Please check with your doctor before using Becgis Lotion if you have adrenal gland problems, cataract or glaucoma, liver disease, and other skin infections. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before starting Becgis Lotion.
