Brolax Tablet

Brolax Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called expectorants and cough products used to provide relief from cough. Coughing (dry or productive) is a body's way of clearing irritants (like allergens, mucus or smoke) from airways thereby prevents respiratory infection. Cough is commonly caused as a response to allergy or viral infection but coughing up mucus is possibly an indication of infection in the respiratory tract.
 
Brolax Tablet is a combination of three drugs, namely: Salbutamol (bronchodilator), Guaifenesin (expectorant) and Bromhexine (mucolytic). Salbutamol relaxes and widens the muscles in the airways. Guaifenesin decreases the stickiness of mucus, thereby facilitating its removal. Bromhexine loosens and thins the mucus, making it easier to cough out phlegm. Together, Brolax Tablet provides relief from cough. 
 
You are advised to take Brolax Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhoea, and indigestion. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
 
Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Brolax Tablet may cause dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Brolax Tablet should be used with caution in children if prescribed by the doctor. Avoid consuming alcohol with Brolax Tablet as it could lead to increased dizziness. Inform your doctor about your health condition and the medicines you are taking to rule out any side-effects/interactions.

Do not take Brolax Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor before taking Brolax Tablet if you have asthma, lung infection, overactive thyroid, low levels of potassium, diabetes, glucose-galactose malabsorption, Lapp lactase deficiency, epilepsy, heart, kidney or liver problems. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Brolax Tablet may cause dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Brolax Tablet should be used with caution in children if prescribed by the doctor.
