About Bro-Zedex Syrup
Bro-Zedex Syrup is used to treat cough associated with vicious and excessive mucus in patients with asthma and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder). Coughing (dry or productive) is the body's way of clearing irritants (like allergens, mucus or smoke) from airways and preventing infection. There are two types of coughs, namely: Dry cough and chesty cough. A dry cough is tickly and doesn't produce any vicious or thick mucus, while a chesty cough (wet cough) produces mucous or sputum.
Bro-Zedex Syrup contains Guaifenesin, Bromhexine hydrochloride, Terbutaline sulphate and Menthol. Guaifenesin works by increasing the volume of fluid in the airways, thereby reducing the stickiness or viscosity of mucus. Bromhexine hydrochloride works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe and nose, making it easier to cough it out. Terbutaline sulphate relaxes muscles and widens the airways making breathing easier. Menthol produces a cooling sensation and provides relief from minor throat irritation due to cough deposition.
Your doctor will recommend the dose and duration of Bro-Zedex Syrup based on your medical condition. Some people may experience common side effects such as diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, headache, dizziness, skin rash, tremor, stomach upset and fast heartbeats. Most of these side effects of Bro-Zedex Syrup do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy. Avoid taking Bro-Zedex Syrup while breastfeeding as it is excreted in breast milk and may cause adverse effects in the baby. Bro-Zedex Syrup may cause dizziness, so drive or operate machinery only if you are alert. Bro-Zedex Syrup should be used with caution in children, especially those below 2 years of age, if prescribed by a doctor. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medication to rule out any interactions.

Terbutaline sulphate belongs to the class of bronchodilators that relaxes muscles and widens the airways making breathing easier in people with respiratory complications.
