Cilacil-MT Tablet belongs to the group of anti-hypertensive medicines that are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Cilacil-MT Tablet helps lower blood pressure, thereby reducing the chances of heart problems such as heart attack and stroke. High blood pressure is a condition where the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels. Symptoms include headache, dizziness, nosebleeds, changes in vision, chest pain, weakness, and dyspnea (shortness of breath). The majority of the time, there are no symptoms or indicators of hypertension.
 
Cilacil-MT Tablet is a combination of Cilnidipine and Metoprolol succinate. Cilnidipine acts on the calcium channels of the blood vessels which suppress the contraction of blood vessels and promote smooth blood flow. Metoprolol succinate lowers heart rate and facilitates simpler blood circulation throughout the body. Thus, Cilacil-MT Tablet helps treat hypertension.

Take as prescribed. You are advised to take Cilacil-MT Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. Sometimes, you may experience certain common side effects such as headache, nausea, dizziness, weakness, decreased blood pressure, and a slow heart rate. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will subside over time. However, if any of these side effects persist, consult your doctor.
 
Do not stop taking Cilacil-MT Tablet on your own as abrupt stopping may cause a sudden increase in blood pressure. Consult your doctor before taking Cilacil-MT Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Cilacil-MT Tablet is not recommended for children as efficacy and safety have not been established. Cilacil-MT Tablet may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Avoid consuming alcohol as it might cause increased dizziness. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking and about your health condition to rule out any unpleasant side effects/interactions.

Do not take Cilacil-MT Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor before taking Cilacil-MT Tablet if you have diabetes, circulation problems, asthma, thyroid disorder, adrenal gland tumour, heart, kidney, or liver problems; if you are on a low-salt diet, or if you are taking potassium supplements. Consult your doctor before taking Cilacil-MT Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Cilacil-MT Tablet is not recommended for children as efficacy and safety have not been established. Cilacil-MT Tablet may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Avoid consuming alcohol as it might cause increased dizziness. Rise slowly from lying/sitting position as Cilacil-MT Tablet may cause dizziness (orthostatic hypotension).

Regular monitoring of blood pressure levels, kidney function and electrolyte levels while taking Cilacil-MT Tablet is advised.
