Deletus D Syrup 100 ml is a combination of medications primarily used to treat dry cough. Additionally, Deletus D Syrup 100 ml is also used to treat allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, throat irritation, or watery eyes. Coughing (dry or productive) is a body’s way of clearing irritants (like allergens, mucus, or smoke) from airways and preventing infection. There are two types of coughs, namely: Dry cough and chesty cough. A dry cough is tickly and doesn't produce any vicious or thick mucus, while a chesty cough (wet cough) means mucous or sputum is produced to help clear your airways. 

Deletus D Syrup 100 ml is a combination of three drugs, namely: Dextromethorphan (cough suppressant), Triprolidine (antihistamine), and Phenylephrine (decongestant). Dextromethorphan belongs to the class of cough suppressants that works by blocking the transmission of nerve signals from the cough center in the brain to the muscles that produce cough. Triprolidine belongs to the class of antihistamines (anti-allergic drugs) that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that works by contracting and narrowing the small blood vessels of nasal passage and airways providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.

Take Deletus D Syrup 100 ml as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will recommend how often you take Deletus D Syrup 100 ml based on your medical condition. Some people may experience nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, stomach upset, dizziness, difficulty in sleeping, nervousness, or excitation. Most of these side effects of Deletus D Syrup 100 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Deletus D Syrup 100 ml or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you have asthma, emphysema (a lung condition causing shortness of breath), cough with excessive mucus, or cough caused by smoking inform your doctor before taking Deletus D Syrup 100 ml.

Caution is advised when drinking grapefruit juice or eating grapefruit as it can lead to excessive accumulation of the drug with both increased and prolonged effects.

You are recommended to consult a doctor if the cough persists or worsens after 1 week of treatment with Deletus D Syrup 100 ml.
