Medicinal Benefits

Dentogel Gel contains Benzalkonium chloride, Choline salicylate, and Lignocaine hydrochloride used to treat mouth ulcers. Benzalkonium chloride acts as an antibacterial agent and prevents secondary infections. Thus, it promotes the quick healing of mouth ulcers. Choline salicylate is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that blocks the action of cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme in the body that is involved in the production of certain chemical substances such as prostaglandins that cause pain and swelling. Thereby, helps in relieving pain and swelling. Lignocaine hydrochloride is a local anesthetic that decreases pain sensation by preventing the transmission of pain signals from nerves to the brain. Also, Dentogel Gel is used to treat Oropharynx (middle part of the throat) inflammation.

Uses of Dentogel Gel

Mouth ulcers, Oropharynx (middle part of the throat) inflammation

About Dentogel Gel

Dentogel Gel belongs to a class of drugs called analgesics and antiseptics used in the treatment of mouth ulcers and oropharynx (middle part of the throat) inflammation. Mouth ulcers, also known as canker sores are small, painful lesions that develop in the mouth or at the base of the gums. These can make you uncomfortable while eating, drinking, and talking. They usually heal within a few weeks and are not contagious.

Dentogel Gel is a combination of three drugs, namely: Benzalkonium chloride (antibacterial agent), Choline salicylate (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug), and Lignocaine hydrochloride (local anesthetic). Benzalkonium chloride acts as an antibacterial agent and prevents secondary infections. Thus, it promotes the quick healing of mouth ulcers. Choline salicylate works by blocking the action of the cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme in the body that is involved in the production of certain chemical substances such as prostaglandins that cause pain and swelling. Thereby, it helps in relieving pain and swelling. Lignocaine hydrochloride decreases pain sensation by preventing the transmission of pain signals from nerves to the brain.

Dentogel Gel is for topical oral use only. You are advised to use Dentogel Gel for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you based on your condition. In some cases, you may experience itching or irritation at the site of the application. These side effects of Dentogel Gel do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Dentogel Gel or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Avoid contact of Dentogel Gel with nose, ears, mouth, or eyes. In case Dentogel Gel comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, please inform your doctor before using Dentogel Gel.
