This medicine prevents and treats the further progression of this neurological (specialized cells responsible for sending signals to the brain) disease. ALS is a progressive neurological disease that damages the nerve cells responsible for walking, chewing, talking especially the brain and spinal cord. As this disease is progressive so its symptoms get worse over time if the right treatment is not provided. 

EDAVIT 1.5MG INJECTION contains 'Edaravone' that helps to slow down the worsening of the neurological disease. It is an antioxidant that prevents the death of nerve cells and preserves the functioning of muscles. EDAVIT 1.5MG INJECTION helps to keep nerve cells healthy so that an individual can perform normal activities like walking, eating during the day.

EDAVIT 1.5MG INJECTION will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. In some cases, you may experience walking, bruising and headache.  Most of these side effects of EDAVIT 1.5MG INJECTION do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Do not take EDAVIT 1.5MG INJECTION if you are allergic to EDAVIT 1.5MG INJECTION or any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor before taking EDAVIT 1.5MG INJECTION if you have or had heart, kidney, or liver problems, nervous system disorders, respiratory disorders or muscle weakness.  Do not take EDAVIT 1.5MG INJECTION if you have asthma or a sulfite allergy. EDAVIT 1.5MG INJECTION contains sodium bisulfite, which may cause a hypersensitive reaction that can be serious or life-threatening. Sodium bisulfite if given to asthmatic patients may cause asthmatic episodes so EDAVIT 1.5MG INJECTION is not recommended to use in asthma patients. Asthmatic persons are more sensitive to sulfite sensitivity. EDAVIT 1.5MG INJECTION should be administered at a doctor's office or hospital however a patient should consult with their doctor to know which action is right for them.
