When taking these drugs, those who are extremely young (particularly newborns and babies), have heart or lung conditions, certain genetic predispositions, or have a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiencies may be more likely to develop methemoglobinemia.

However, if you experience symptoms such as grey discolouration of the skin, abnormal blood colouration, nausea, headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue, shortness of breath, rapid or shallow breathing, a rapid heartbeat, palpitation, anxiety, or confusion, consult a doctor immediately.
