Infanrix Injection

Infanrix Injection belongs to the group of medicines called 'immunizing agents' primarily used to prevent diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis. Diphtheria is a serious infection affecting the nose and throat, leading to difficulty breathing, heart failure, paralysis, and death. Tetanus, also known as lockjaw, is caused by bacteria that enter the body through deep cuts, wounds, or burns affecting the nervous system. Pertussis or whooping cough is a respiratory tract infection caused by a type of bacteria known as Bordetella pertussis.

Infanrix Injection contains 'Diphtheria toxoid, Tetanus toxoid, and Pertussis toxoid.' It works by stimulating the immune response in the body by developing antibodies and antitoxins against the toxoids. Thus, it helps provide immunity or resistance against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis diseases.

Infanrix Injection will be administered by a healthcare professional. Common side effects of Infanrix Injection include fever, headache, tiredness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, redness, tenderness and pain at the injection site. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.

Inform your doctor beforehand if you or your child has a history of severe allergic reactions to vaccines. Let your doctor know if you have any immune system disorders like Guillain-Barre syndrome, HIV infection, high fever, and fits. Store Infanrix Injection in cold places at 2°C to 8°C and do not freeze.
