Lom 0.3% Eye Drop

Lom 0.3% Eye Drop belongs to a group of antibiotic medicines called fluoroquinolones for treating bacterial eye infections such as bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharoconjunctivitis, and blepharitis. Additionally, it is also used to treat corneal ulcers and keratitis.

Lom 0.3% Eye Drop contains Lomefloxacin, that works by interfering with the bacterial DNA processes which are necessary for their survival. Thereby, Lom 0.3% Eye Drop kills the bacteria and helps treat bacterial infection.

In some cases, Lom 0.3% Eye Drop may cause side effects like local irritation or a slight and transient burning sensation immediately after using eye drops. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Do not use Lom 0.3% Eye Drop if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid touching the tip of the dropper as it may contaminate the contents. Keep your doctor informed regarding your health condition and the medicines you are taking to prevent any side effects/interactions.

Lom 0.3% Eye Drop contains Lomefloxacin, a difluorinated quinolone derivative, is a bacterial gyrase inhibitor used to treat bacterial eye infections such as bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharoconjunctivitis, and blepharitis occurring due to lomefloxacin susceptible organisms. Additionally, it is also used to treat staphylococcus aureus-induced corneal ulcers. Lom 0.3% Eye Drop works by interfering with the bacterial DNA processes like initiation, elongation, and termination phases of replication, transcription, and repair. Thereby, Lom 0.3% Eye Drop kills the bacteria and helps treat bacterial infection. It is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Do not use Lom 0.3% Eye Drop if you are allergic to any of its components. Seek medical advice from the doctor before using Lom 0.3% Eye Drop if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. To avoid reduction of efficacy, eye preparations containing heavy metals such as zinc and copper should not be used within 15 minutes of using Lom 0.3% Eye Drop. Also, bacteriostatic ophthalmic antibiotics should not be used concomitantly (simultaneously) with Lom 0.3% Eye Drop. Let the doctor know if you are using any other eye medications.

• Intensive exposure to sunlight or UV radiation should be avoided during treatment with Lom 0.3% Eye Drop. 
• Avoid wearing contact lens during eye infection.
