MAHANAC S TABLET is a combination of two medicines that include aceclofenac and serratiopeptidase. MAHANAC S TABLET contains ‘aceclofenac’ which works by blocking the release of a chemical messenger called prostaglandin, produced by COX-2 in the brain, responsible for pain, swelling, and inflammation. On the other hand, MAHANAC S TABLET contains serratiopeptidase, which reduces swelling and inflammation through proteins' breakdown. Thus MAHANAC S TABLET helps to relieve musculoskeletal pain and in various joints conditions.
Do not take MAHANAC S TABLET for longer durations as it might increase the risk of heart problems and stomach bleeding. Do not exceed the dose and duration of treatment as prescribed by the doctor.
Diarrhea might be a side-effect of MAHANAC S TABLET. Drink enough fluids and eat fiber-rich food if you experience diarrhea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience excess diarrhea consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
Ankylosing spondylitis is arthritis of the spine that can lead to the vertebrae's fusion, leading to pain and inflammation in the spine (vertebrae).
Avoid or limit consumption of alcohol with MAHANAC S TABLET as it increases the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. It may also lead to increased dizziness and drowsiness.
The most common side effects of MAHANAC S TABLET are nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite (feeling not hungry), heartburn, stomach pain, indigestion, diarrhea. Most of these side effects of MAHANAC S TABLET do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
Serrapeptase is a proteolytic enzyme (protein breaking) derived from silkworms used to treat inflammation and pain following surgery, joint pain, dental surgery and other medical purposes.

About MAHANAC S TABLET
MAHANAC S TABLET belongs to a group of medicines called 'Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs' (NSAIDs) used to provide pain relief in various conditions including post-traumatic pain, low back pain, cervical pain, spondylitis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis. Pain can be temporary (acute) or prolonged period (chronic) in nature. Acute pain is for a short time caused by damage to the tissues of the muscle, bone or organs. Chronic pain lasts for life long caused due to nerve damage, osteoarthritis and dental pain due to damage to the tooth nerve, infection, extraction or injury.
MAHANAC S TABLET contains two medicines, namely Aceclofenac and Serratiopeptidase. Aceclofenac works by blocking the release of a chemical messenger called prostaglandin, produced by COX-2, responsible for pain, swelling and inflammation. On the other hand, Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme that helps break the insoluble protein (fibrin) by-product of blood clot into smaller units. It also causes thinning of the fluids in the body due to injury, thereby making fluid drainage smoother in the swollen tissue. Together MAHANAC S TABLET is effective for relieving pain, especially in joint condition.
You are advised to take MAHANAC S TABLET for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical conditions. You may experience nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite (feeling not hungry), heartburn, stomach pain, indigestion, diarrhoea. Do not take MAHANAC S TABLET if you are allergic to MAHANAC S TABLET or other painkillers. MAHANAC S TABLET should not be taken in the conditions like stomach ulcers, bleeding problems, clotting problems, or severe heart, liver, or kidney problems. Inform your doctor before taking MAHANAC S TABLET if you have or had disorders of the stomach, blood circulation problems to the brain, asthma, angioedema (swelling under the skin), skin rashes, diabetes, high blood pressure, auto-immune diseases, and connective tissue diseases. Stop taking MAHANAC S TABLET and consult your doctor immediately if you have stomach pain or any signs of bleeding in the intestine or stomach, such as blood in stools. Inform your doctor if you are recovering from major surgery or if you are more than 65 years of age. Do not take MAHANAC S TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed. MAHANAC S TABLET may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. MAHANAC S TABLET should not be given to children as safety has not been established.
