Metrogyl Compound Plus Tablet is used to treat amoebic infections by killing the infection-causing micro-organisms. Amoebic infection or amoebiasis is a parasitic infection of the colon caused by protozoa called Entamoeba histolytica.
Metrogyl Compound Plus Tablet does not help in rehydration. Metrogyl Compound Plus Tablet should be taken along with plenty of fluids or oral rehydration solutions (ORS) to avoid dehydration which could occur due to loss of fluids during diarrhoea.
