Novale-CT Scalp Lotion is primarily used to treat dandruff and dermatitis (scaly patches and red skin on the scalp). Novale-CT Scalp Lotion is composed of two medicines: Ketoconazole (antifungal) and Coal Tar (keratoplastic). Ketoconazole is an antifungal agent that works by preventing the growth of dandruff-causing fungi by avoiding them from forming their own protective covering. Coal tar belongs to a class of drugs known as keratoplastic (thickens the keratin layers). It works by removing dead cells from the skin’s top layer and slowing down skin cells' growth. This effect decreases scaling and dryness, thus relieving itching and cracking related to dandruff. 

About Novale-CT Scalp Lotion

Novale-CT Scalp Lotion belongs to a class of combination drugs called 'antifungal with keratolytic agents' primarily used to treat dandruff and control seborrheic dermatitis (scaly patches and red skin on the scalp). Dandruff is a flaky, itchy scalp without signs of inflammation.

Novale-CT Scalp Lotion is composed of two medicines: Ketoconazole (antifungal) and Coal Tar (keratolytic agent). You are advised to use Novale-CT Scalp Lotion for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical conditions. You may experience warmth or a burning sensation, skin irritation, itching, and redness at the application site. The burning sensation may usually last for five minutes after application. Most of these side effects of Novale-CT Scalp Lotion do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Novale-CT Scalp Lotion may cause liver failure, so your doctor will monitor your liver function while taking Novale-CT Scalp Lotion. Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions to Novale-CT Scalp Lotion or other medications. Use of Novale-CT Scalp Lotion is contraindicated in people with asthma, heart problems (with prolonged QT wave of heartbeat). Oily hair and scalp, poor diet, certain illnesses like Parkinson’s disease, and frequent contact to extreme heat and cold are the factors that increase the chances of having dandruff.

Novale-CT Scalp Lotion is for topical (for skin) use only. Do not apply Novale-CT Scalp Lotion on mucous membranes, lesions, or large areas of skin. If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose or mouth, rinse with cold water.

Take the Novale-CT Scalp Lotion as soon as you can but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at one time.

Prolonged use of Novale-CT Scalp Lotion can cause severe liver damage and heart problems like life-threatening heart rate or heart rhythm problems. So, if you are having any heart or liver disease consult a doctor before using Novale-CT Scalp Lotion.
