Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat urinary tract infections, bacterial infections by inflammation of the peritoneum, eye and ear infections, skin and soft tissue infections, sexually transmitted infections, respiratory infections, vaginal infections, protozoan infections, intra-abdominal infections, and infections during surgical procedures. It is also indicated in the treatment of diarrhoea of mixed infections in adults. Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's is a combination of two antibiotic drugs, namely: Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Ofloxacin inhibits DNA gyrase which is required for the replication, transcription, and repair of the DNA. Ornidazole inhibits protein synthesis and leads to cell death, thereby kills the bacteria. Together, Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's helps in treating bacterial infections. Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

About Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's

Take Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's as prescribed. In some cases, Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's may cause side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, and dizziness. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side-effects persist or worsen.

Talk to your doctor if you experience pain in tendons, swelling, and inflammation as Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's is associated with an increased risk of tendon rupture and tendonitis. Consult your doctor before taking Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's as it may cause increased dizziness. Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's is not recommended for use in children.

Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's contains Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Ofloxacin inhibits DNA gyrase which is required for the production of DNA replication, transcription, and repair. Ornidazole inhibits protein synthesis and leads to cell death, thereby kills the bacteria. Together, Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's helps in treating bacterial infections.

Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's may cause photosensitivity (sensitivity to sunlight) and can make you sunburn easily. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Always wear protective clothing and sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher before going out.

It is recommended to complete the course of Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection. To treat your condition effectually, continue taking Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it.

Co-administration of magnesium and aluminium-containing antacids, sucralfate, and iron-containing preparations with Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's may reduce the absorption. Therefore, you are advised to take Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's two hours before such preparations.

Do not take Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections.

Consult your doctor before taking Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's if you have diabetes, as Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's may cause hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar levels). Regularly monitor blood sugar levels while taking Novigyl-OZ Tablet 10's to avoid unpleasant events.
