Opthodex N Eye Drop contains Neomycin and Dexamethasone. Neomycin is an antibiotic that inhibits the production of essential proteins that are necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers. Thereby, destroys bacteria. Dexamethasone is a steroid that works by inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling.
You are recommended to wash your hands first and tilt your head back and gently pull the lower eyelid downwards. Then, squeeze the bottle gently by holding it upside down to instil the number of drops into the affected eye as advised by your doctor without touching the tip of the bottle to the eye or surrounding areas to avoid contamination. Finally, replace the cap tightly after use. After applying Opthodex N Eye Drop, you are advised to close your eyes for a minimum of 2 to 3 minutes and pressure should be applied to the corner of the eye by pressing a finger to stop eye drops from spreading into the rest of the body.
You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using Opthodex N Eye Drop as it may cause adverse effects. Therefore, you are advised to remove contact lenses before applying Opthodex N Eye Drop and reinsert after 15 minutes of using Opthodex N Eye Drop.
Opthodex N Eye Drop may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after applying in the eyes. Therefore, you are recommended to wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating machinery.
You are recommended to maintain a time gap of a minimum of 5 minutes between using Opthodex N Eye Drop and other eye drops. However, please consult a doctor before using other medicines with Opthodex N Eye Drop.
You are not recommended to stop using Opthodex N Eye Drop without consulting your doctor else it would worsen the infection. About Opthodex N Eye Drop
Opthodex N Eye Drop belongs to the combination of steroids and antibiotics primarily used to treat eye inflammation caused by uveitis, eye injury, chemical burns, radiation, or certain other conditions. Opthodex N Eye Drop is used when there is a risk of bacterial infection in or around the eye. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the conjunctiva's inflammation or infection (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid.
Opthodex N Eye Drop is a combination of two drugs: Neomycin (antibiotic) and Dexamethasone (steroid).
