About Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml

Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml belongs to the class of medicines called corticosteroids used to reduce eye inflammation caused by certain conditions. It is used to provide relief from eye redness, irritation, burning and swelling caused by heat, radiation, chemicals, allergy or foreign objects in the eye. Eye inflammation is a common condition in which eyes become swollen and red.  

Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml contains Prednisolone acetate (corticosteroid) and Benzalkonium chloride (preservative). Prednisolone acetate belongs to the class of corticosteroids that works by inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling. Benzalkonium chloride acts as a preservative. 

Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml is only for ophthalmic use (eyes). You are advised to use Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience mild eye irritation, headache, red eye, blurred vision or a feeling of something in the eye. Most of these side effects of Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects worsen or persist, please consult your doctor. 

If you are allergic to Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml is not recommended for children as the safety and effectiveness were not established. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before using Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml. Drive only if your vision is clear as Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml is used to provide relief from eye redness, irritation, burning and swelling caused by heat, radiation, chemicals, allergy or foreign objects in the eye. Directions for Use

Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml is for ophthalmic use only. You are recommended to wash your hands before and after use. Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Finally, replace the cap tightly after use. Do not touch the container’s tip to the eye, eyelids or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Inform your doctor if you are taking anti-HIV medicines (cobicistat, ritonavir) before using Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml.

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have bacterial, viral or fungal eye infections, ulcers or injuries on the cornea, glaucoma, tuberculosis of the eye, or had herpes simplex, inform your doctor before taking Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml.

  • Eat Omega-3 fatty acid-rich foods such as sardines, mackerel, tuna, salmon, trout and omega-3 fatty acid supplements.
  • Cut down your coffee intake as it may increase pressure in the eye. Replace coffee with green tea.
  • Maintain a diet rich in antioxidants such as dark-green leafy vegetables, whole grains, citrus fruits, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, etc.
  • Avoid consuming processed foods such as high-fat meats, sugary foods, dairy products, fast foods as they may increase inflammation.

If you are using Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml for more than 10 days, your doctor may recommended certain tests to check your eyes for cataracts, infections and increase in pressure in the eyes.
