Pregafon Tablet 10's is a combination medication indicated for the management of neuropathic pain. It may also be used to treat pain caused by fibromyalgia (musculoskeletal pain), nerve pain in post-herpetic neuralgia (damage to the nerve fibres during shingles infection) or spinal cord injury. Neuropathic pain is a chronic progressive nerve disease that causes nerve pain due to nerve damage or a malfunctioning nervous system. 

Pregafon Tablet 10's contains Methylcobalamin, Pregabalin, Alpha lipoic acid, and Pyridoxine. Mecobalamin/Methylcobalamin, a form of vitamin B12, regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis. Pregabalin is an antiepileptic agent that works by binding to the specific site on voltage-gated calcium channels, thus helping to relieve nerve pain. Alpha-lipoic acid is an antioxidant that prevents cell damage and restores vitamin levels in the body. It also decreases pain and numbness in neuropathy. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is a water-soluble vitamin that is involved in protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism and the formation of red blood cells and neurotransmitters. 

Your doctor will decide the dosage based on your medical condition. Sometimes, Pregafon Tablet 10's may have common side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, shakiness, headache, nausea, vomiting, constipation, weight gain, swelling in the hands and feet, and dry mouth. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Let your doctor and the laboratory staff know if you are using Pregafon Tablet 10's since Pyridoxine may interfere with a urine test for urobilinogen.
