Pylokit Kit

Pylokit Kit is a combination medicine indicated for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori-associated with peptic ulcer disease. Helicobacter pylori weaken the protective lining of the stomach and intestine; this allows the acid to get through the sensitive lining beneath. Both the bacteria and acid irritate the mucosal lining leading to ulcers. Symptoms include burning sensation in the stomach, frequent burping, bloating, and abdominal pain.
 
Pylokit Kit contains Clarithromycin, Lansoprazole, and Tinidazole. Clarithromycin kills the bacteria by preventing the synthesis of necessary proteins required for vital bacterial functions. Lansoprazole works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for acid production, thereby preventing acid-related ulcers. Tinidazole damages the DNA of bacteria, thereby kills them. Together, Pylokit Kit helps treat peptic ulcer disease.
 
You are advised to take Pylokit Kit for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, stomach pain, constipation, and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
 
Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Pylokit Kit may cause drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert. Pylokit Kit is not recommended for children. Avoid consuming alcohol whilst taking Pylokit Kit and for 3 days after discontinuation. On long-term treatment, Pylokit Kit may cause bone fractures, hypomagnesemia (low levels of magnesium), and low levels of vitamin B12.

Lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for the production of acid, thereby prevents acid-related ulcers. Tinidazole is an antibiotic that damages the DNA of bacteria and infectious microorganisms, thereby kills them. Together, Pylokit Kit helps treat peptic ulcer disease.

Do not take Pylokit Kit if you are allergic to any of its contents; if you are taking any proton pump inhibitors, nitroimidazole derivatives, erythromycin or macrolide antibiotics, or rilpivirine; if you have a history of heart problems such as QT prolongation or ventricular cardiac arrhythmia, or if you have both kidney and liver problems. Inform your doctor if you have low magnesium levels, liver or kidney problems.
