Rinover DX Syrup 100 ml contains anti-tussive (relieve cough) medication primarily used to treat dry cough. A cough is a reflex action that helps to clear any foreign irritant or mucus in the throat. Mostly cough lasts for a short time (two to three weeks), so it is acute. But sometimes, if it is persistent for more than eight weeks, it can lead to chronic cough. Dry cough refers to a cough where there is no mucus or secretion along with cough.

Rinover DX Syrup 100 ml is a combination drug that contains, Chlorpheniramine (anti-histamine), Dextromethorphan (cough suppressant), Phenylpropanolamine (decongestant), and Menthol (coolant), primarily used to treat dry cough. Chlorpheniramine works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. Dextromethorphan works by blocking the cough receptor present in the brain, which is known to cause cough. Phenylpropanolamine narrows the small blood vessels, relieving congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Menthol produces a cooling sensation and relieves throat irritation.

Rinover DX Syrup 100 ml should be taken as prescribed by the doctor. The most common side effects of Rinover DX Syrup 100 ml are nausea, sleepiness, upset stomach, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), high blood pressure, and palpitations. Most of these side effects of Rinover DX Syrup 100 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Rinover DX Syrup 100 ml may interact with MAO inhibitor (isocarboxazid, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine), anti-arrhythmic medications (amiodarone, propafenone, quinidine, flecainide), anti-anxiety medications (fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline), anti-fungal medication (terbinafine), blood thinner medication (aspirin), anti-diabetic medication (metformin), anti-depressant medication (bupropion), and other decongestants (phenylephrine, ephedrine).

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid alcohol intake with Rinover DX Syrup 100 ml as it may cause increased drowsiness, dizziness, and lack of concentration.

Drug-Disease Interactions: If you have any cardiovascular disease, lung disease (asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), kidney/liver disease, glaucoma (increased eye pressure), diabetes, depression, or anxiety, inform your doctor before taking Rinover DX Syrup 100 ml.

• Wash your hands with soap and water regularly to prevent the spread of germs.
• Eat plenty of foods rich in good bacteria like yogurt to improve overall health.
• Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration and keep the throat lubricated.
• Gargle with salt water for relief from sore throat.
• Do not smoke as it may worsen your condition, so avoid tobacco intake.
• Avoid alcohol consumption with Rinover DX Syrup 100 ml as it may cause tiredness, drowsiness, or lack of concentration.

• Children may also be more sensitive to the side effects of antihistamines. In young children, antihistamines may cause agitation/excitement instead of drowsiness.
• Do not take Rinover DX Syrup 100 ml if you have taken an MAO inhibitor (anti-depressant medication like Isocarboxazid, Phenelzine, Selegiline, and Tranylcypromine) in the last 14 days.
