Schizonil F Tablet composed of three medications namely Chlorpromazine, Trifluoperazine, and Trihexyphenidyl belongs to a group of medications called ‘antipsychotics’. It is used in the treatment of schizophrenia or psychosis. Chlorpromazine is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood. Trihexyphenidyl is an anticholinergic that works on the nervous system and corrects some of the side effects occurring during antipsychotic treatment. Trifluoperazine is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood.
Schizonil F Tablet causes common side effects such as nausea, constipation, sedation, dryness in the mouth, weight gain, orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), urinary retention, the Increased prolactin level in blood, dizziness, blurred vision, nervousness. Most of these side effects of Schizonil F Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.
Schizonil F Tablet should be used with caution in hypertension, CNS depression, narrow-angle glaucoma, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, tardive dyskinesia, and have a history of dementia (memory loss).
Schizonil F Tablet cannot be stopped Schizonil F Tablet suddenly, because Schizonil F Tablet may cause withdrawal symptoms. So please consult your doctor before stopping Schizonil F Tablet .
Schizonil F Tablet is not recommended for use in patients with tardive dyskinesia which is an involuntary movement of the tongue, lips, and face unless the patient has concomitant Parkinson's disease due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.
