Do not cover the affected areas with a dressing or bandage unless the doctor advised. If you are wearing gold, silver or other metallic objects, please remove them while using Selsun Topical Suspension to avoid discolouration. When treated for tinea versicolor, Selenium sulfide in Selsun Topical Suspension may harm the foetus when applied to a pregnant woman's body surfaces or can affect reproduction capacity. Hence, it is advised that pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult the doctor before starting Selsun Topical Suspension.

Selenium sulfide is a mineral compound used to treat dandruff, seborrhoea, and tinea versicolor.

Selsun Topical Suspension is an antifungal medication, primarily used to treat seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff or scaly patches and red skin on the scalp), and tinea versicolor (a fungus that discolours the skin). Dandruff is a skin condition that causes itchy and scaly white or greyish flakes on the scalp skin.
Selsun Topical Suspension contains Selenium sulphide, an antifungal agent. It relieves itching and flaking of the scalp and removes the dry, scaly particles. Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose that suits your infection. Selsun Topical Suspension is for external use only. If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose or mouth, rinse with cold water. Selsun Topical Suspension has common side effects like dry scalp, skin irritation or temporary hair loss. These side effects usually do not require medical attention and gradually resolve during the treatment.
