Sinate OD Tablet contains Doxylamine, Pyridoxine, and Folic acid. Doxylamine is an antihistamine that works by blocking the natural chemical (histamine) in the body, thereby preventing nausea and vomiting. Pyridoxine is vitamin B6 and its deficiency may cause nausea and vomiting. It works by restoring the levels of vitamin B6 in the body and treat nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. A folic acid is also a form of vitamin B which can provide essential nutrients during pregnancy.

You should not stop taking Sinate OD Tablet even if you feel better as abrupt of this medicine may cause recurrence of symptoms. So, please consult your doctor before discontinuing the medicine.

The common side-effects of Sinate OD Tablet are drowsiness, dizziness, tiredness, dry mouth, and constipation. These side-effects are usually mild and temporary. However, if any of these side-effects persist or get worse, inform your doctor immediately.

It is advised to take Sinate OD Tablet 1 or 2 hours before a meal to prevent nausea and vomiting.

It is not advised to take Sinate OD Tablet with certain pain medicines such as morphine which can suppress the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). Concomitant use of these drugs may increase the risk of side-effects.

About Sinate OD Tablet

Sinate OD Tablet belongs to the class of medications called ‘anti-emetics’ primarily used to treat nausea (feeling sick) and vomiting (being sick) during pregnancy. Morning sickness (nausea and vomiting during pregnancy) is a common symptom of pregnancy. It usually begins in the 6th week of pregnancy, lasting up to 16 to 18 weeks. However, some pregnant women have it throughout pregnancy. It can lead to electrolyte imbalances and weight loss in pregnant women.

Sinate OD Tablet contains Doxylamine, Pyridoxine, and Folic acid. Doxylamine is an antihistamine that works by blocking the natural chemical (histamine) in the body, thereby preventing nausea and vomiting. Pyridoxine is vitamin B6, and its deficiency may cause nausea and vomiting. It works by restoring the levels of vitamin B6 in the body and treating nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Directions for Use

Drug Warnings

Sinate OD Tablet is usually prescribed for pregnant women to prevent nausea and vomiting. So, do not use it for any other indication without consulting your doctor. It is not recommended to use Sinate OD Tablet along with monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors (antidepressants). In addition, inform your doctor if you are receiving anticoagulant (blood thinners) therapy, sleeping pills, pain killers and cough or cold medicines. How does the drug interact with Sinate OD Tablet:
Taking Sinate OD Tablet with tranylcypromine can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome(a condition in which a chemical called serotonin increase in your body).

How to manage the interaction:
There may be a possibility of interaction between Sinate OD Tablet and Tranylcypromine, but can be taken together if prescribed by a doctor. However, consult a doctor if you experience confusion, hallucination(seeing and hearing things that do not exist), fits, blood pressure alteration, increased heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, shivering or shaking, blurred vision, pain in the muscles or stiffness, incoordination, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Do not discontinue any medications without consulting your doctor.
How does the drug interact with Sinate OD Tablet:
Coadministration of Sinate OD Tablet and Cholestyramine may interfere with the absorption of Sinate OD Tablet.

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking Cholestyramine and Sinate OD Tablet together can result in an interaction, they can be taken together if prescribed by a doctor. However, if you experience Constipation, Diarrhea, Stomach pain, Nausea, or Loss of appetite, consult a doctor. Do not stop using any medications without consulting a doctor.
How does the drug interact with Sinate OD Tablet:
Coadministration of Sinate OD Tablet and Fluorouracil may increase the effects of Fluorouracil and increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anaemia (lack of blood), infections, and nerve damage.

Although there is a possible interaction between Sinate OD Tablet and Fluorouracil, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if you experience diarrhoea, paleness of skin, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body pains, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling in your hands and feet, contact your doctor.

Sulfadiazine may decrease the blood levels and effects of Sinate OD Tablet.

Co-administration of Sinate OD Tablet with Capecitabine may increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anemia, infections, and nerve damage.
