Telvie MP Tablet contains telmisartan and metoprolol. Telmisartan works by blocking the angiotensin II receptor. Angiotensin II constricts the blood vessels, so by blocking its effect, telmisartan allows the blood vessels to relax and widen. Metoprolol helps to reduce blood pressure by allowing the blood to flow more smoothly. Together, Telvie MP Tablet helps in reducing the blood pressure to normal.
Telvie MP Tablet may cause a slow heart rate (bradycardia). A minor fluctuation should not be a worry, however, if slow heart rate continues and you begin to feel unwell, speak with your doctor.
Telvie MP Tablet may alter potassium levels. Therefore, inform your doctor if you are taking food rich in potassium such as potassium-containing salt substitutes or over-the-counter potassium supplements.
Please do not stop taking Telvie MP Tablet without consulting your doctor on your own as it may lead to rise in blood pressure. Continue taking Telvie MP Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it to you. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you experience any difficulty while taking Telvie MP Tablet .
