Tenof EM Tablet contains Emtricitabine and Tenofovir disoproxil. Tenof EM Tablet works by interfering with the working of nucleotide and nucleoside reverse transcriptase enzymes which are necessary for the reproduction of the virus. Thereby, Tenof EM Tablet helps in treating HIV infection.

Do not stop taking Tenof EM Tablet without consulting your doctor as it may reduce the effectiveness of anti-HIV therapy. Continue taking Tenof EM Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you experience any difficulty while taking Tenof EM Tablet .

Tenof EM Tablet might cause lactic acidosis (excess of lactic acid in the blood), a rare but a severe side effect, especially in women who are obese and people with liver disease. Consult a doctor immediately if you experience stomach pain, vomiting, nausea, drowsiness, and deep rapid breathing while taking Tenof EM Tablet .

Tenof EM Tablet does not cure HIV infection. However, Tenof EM Tablet helps in decreasing the chance of developing AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) and other HIV-related illnesses such as cancer or serious infections.

Tenof EM Tablet can be taken by HIV-negative patients to lower the chance of getting HIV infection if prescribed by the doctor. Before starting the treatment, you should have a negative HIV test. Whilst taking Tenof EM Tablet regular HIV tests for at least every 3 months is advised.

Tenof EM Tablet belongs to a group of antiretroviral medicines used to treat HIV infection. Tenof EM Tablet also helps in reducing the risk of getting HIV-1 infection when used as a daily treatment along with practising safe sex.
 
Tenof EM Tablet is a combination of two drugs, namely: Emtricitabine and Tenofovir disoproxil. Emtricitabine is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor, whereas Tenofovir disoproxil is a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor. Tenof EM Tablet works by interfering with the working of nucleotide and nucleoside reverse transcriptase enzymes which are necessary for the reproduction of the virus. Together, Tenof EM Tablet helps in treating HIV infection.
 
You are advised to take Tenof EM Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition.
