FAQs

ULCEND CAPSULE contains Omeprazole and Domperidone. Omeprazole works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for the production of acid. Domperidone works by increasing the movements and contractions of stomach muscles. Together, ULCEND CAPSULE helps in treating acidity.

Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of ULCEND CAPSULE. Drink enough fluids and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if you experience severe diarrhoea or if you find blood in your stools.

Avoid lying down immediately after meals to prevent acid reflux. Raise the head of the bed 10-20cm by putting a pillow so that the head and chest are above the waist. This helps in preventing acid reflux.

Dry mouth could be a side-effect of ULCEND CAPSULE. Limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking and mouthwashes containing alcohol, drinking water regularly, and chewing sugar-free gum/candy might help in stimulating saliva and thereby prevents drying of the mouth.

ULCEND CAPSULE contains domperidone which helps in treating nausea and vomiting. However, ULCEND CAPSULE is used to treat acidity. Please consult your doctor, he/she may prescribe you an alternate medicine for treating nausea and vomiting.

Do not take ULCEND CAPSULE for longer durations unless prescribed by the doctor. Consult your doctor if your condition does not improve even after taking ULCEND CAPSULE for 14days.

About ULCEND CAPSULE

ULCEND CAPSULE belongs to a group of medicines called gastrointestinal agents used to treat heartburn, indigestion, epigastric pain, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). Peptic ulcers are sores that develop on the inner lining of the intestine and stomach. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome is characterised by the formation of tumours in the upper part of the small intestine, which leads to excess acid production.

ULCEND CAPSULE is a combination of two drugs, namely: Omeprazole (proton pump inhibitor) and Domperidone (a dopamine antagonist). Omeprazole works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for the production of acid Domperidone works by increasing the movements and contractions of stomach muscle. Together, ULCEND CAPSULE helps in treating acidity.

Take ULCEND CAPSULE 30-60minutes prior to food. Swallow ULCEND CAPSULE as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew, or break it. You are advised to take ULCEND CAPSULE for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as dry mouth, stomach pain, diarrhoea, headache, and flatulence. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Inform your doctor if you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or intestinal obstruction. Consult your doctor before taking ULCEND CAPSULE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. ULCEND CAPSULE may cause sleepiness, so drive only if you are alert. ULCEND CAPSULE should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with ULCEND CAPSULE as it could lead to increased drowsiness and can elevate the production of stomach acid.
