About Xendef-6 Tablet

Xendef-6 Tablet belongs to the class of medication called steroid primarily used to treat Duchene muscular dystrophy in adults and children above 2 years of age. Autoimmune disease is a health disorder in which the immune system doesn't work normally & is unable to distinguish between a foreign cell & a native cell. This condition results in an immune system that starts to attack native cells & organs, leading to medical problems like Duchenne muscular dystrophy, psoriasis & arthritis, etc.

Xendef-6 Tablet is an immunosuppressive drug that works by binding to immune system cells and turns off the switches (receptors) that lead to their abnormal functioning or damaging effects. After taking the drug Xendef-6 Tablet binds to immune cells, resulting in the inhibition of inflammation & autoimmune diseases that occur due to the production of chemicals called cytokines responsible for inflammation. Thus, a Xendef-6 Tablet class of drugs is beneficial in autoimmune diseases and inflammation that causes harm in various organs, especially in joints in arthritis & skin psoriasis. Xendef-6 Tablet make organ transplantation possible & treats muscle disorders like Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Xendef-6 Tablet is available in both oral tablet and suspension dosage forms. The tablet form of Xendef-6 Tablet can be taken with or without food and swallowed whole with a water glass. Do not crush, chew or break it. The liquid form of Xendef-6 Tablet can be taken as advised by your doctor with a measuring cup. Your doctor will recommend how often you take Xendef-6 Tablet based on your medical condition. Some people may experience nausea, chest pain, vomiting, drowsiness, headache, dizziness, skin rash, tremor, nervousness, diarrhoea and fast heartbeats. Most of these side effects of Xendef-6 Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. Do not quit taking deflazacort without consulting your physician. Symptoms such as loss of appetite, a disturbed stomach, vomiting, drowsiness, confusion, headache, fever, joint and muscle pain, peeling skin, and weight loss may be caused by stopping the medication suddenly.

Before starting Xendef-6 Tablet , please inform your doctor that you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Xendef-6 Tablet . Extra care is to be taken when a patient has an already existing infection being treated (systemic infection) or has recently had some live virus vaccines. Doctors' consultation is required as Xendef-6 Tablet is not safe to use during pregnancy. 

Uses of Xendef-6 Tablet

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) 

Directions for Use

Tablet: Swallow this tablet whole with a glass of water at the start of a meal or slightly before. Space the doses evenly during the course. Do not chew or crush it. If you cannot swallow the tablet as a whole, you may break the pill into half and take both halves one at a time.Suspension: Measure the suspension in the measuring cup provided with the pack and consume it in the doses as directed by your doctor.

Xendef-6 Tablet is beneficial in inflammatory diseases, including asthma, arthritis, and allergies. It is used in the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). It raises the amount of glucocorticoid in the body. It works by reducing the formation of inflammatory substances and suppressing immunity to prevent self-damage caused by the immune system (auto-immune reactions occurring in organ transplants, autoimmune diseases, or cancer). Xendef-6 Tablet is a steroid that interacts with overactive immune cells and slows their activity and decreases the damaging effects they cause in the body.

  • Eat fiber-rich foods, fruits, and vegetables, and track your food intake to monitor calorie consumption.
  • Limit takeout and restaurant meals, and weigh yourself weekly to stay motivated.
  • Build balanced meals, allow yourself to enjoy treats in moderation, and prioritize sleep and stress management through exercise and relaxation techniques.
  • Eat a balanced diet containing enough proteins, fibre, healthy fats, vegetables and fruits.
  • Get quality sleep for about 7-9 hours.
  • Try to manage stress with meditation or yoga.
  • Drink enough water.
  • Exercise regularly as it helps regulate appetite.
Here are the steps to manage the medication-triggered Upper respiratory tract infection:
  • Inform your doctor about the symptoms you're experiencing due to medication.
  • Your doctor may adjust your treatment plan, which could include changing your medication, adding new medications, or offering advice on managing your symptoms.
  • Practice good hygiene, including frequent handwashing, avoiding close contact with others, and avoiding sharing utensils or personal items.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids to help loosen and clear mucus from your nose, throat, and airways.
  • Get plenty of rest and engage in stress-reducing activities to help your body recover. If your symptoms don't subside or worsen, consult your doctor for further guidance.

  • Tell your doctor about the cough symptoms you're experiencing, which may be triggered by your medication.
  • Your doctor may adjust your treatment plan by changing your medication, adding new medications, or providing guidance on managing your cough symptoms.
  • Practice good hygiene, including frequent handwashing, avoiding close contact with others, and avoiding sharing utensils or personal items.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids, such as water, tea, or soup, to help thin out mucus and soothe your throat.
  • Get plenty of rest and engage in stress-reducing activities to help your body recover. If your cough persists or worsens, consult your doctor for further guidance.
  • Drink six to eight glasses of water per day to be healthy.
  • Healthy urinary habits can help minimize pollakiuria (frequent urinating).
  • Avoid liquids containing caffeine, artificial sweeteners, and soda, as they might cause bladder discomfort.
  • Add bladder-friendly foods such as omega-3 fatty acids, blueberries, and cranberries.
  • Drink water or other clear fluids.
  • To prevent worsening of pain, limit intake of tea, coffee, or alcohol.
  • Include bland foods like rice, toast, crackers, and rice in your diet.
  • Avoid lying down immediately after eating as it may cause indigestion or heartburn.
  • Avoid acidic and spicy food as it may cause indigestion.
  • You can take your medicine with meals to lower the chances of getting stomach pain.
  • Avoid foods that are acidic, spicy, sugary, or greasy.
  • Eat foods that are easily digestible such as rice, toast, and bananas.
  • Eat your meals in smaller amounts throughout the day to prevent strain on your stomach and digestion.
  • Drink water or fluids to stay hydrated and prevent stomach upset.
  • Use a heating pad or massage your stomach area.
  • Engage in mild physical activities such as yoga and walking.

Drug Warnings

Patients with a history of tuberculosis (TB), heart disease or heart failure stomach disorders (gastritis, peptic ulcer), diabetes (including family history), osteoporosis (bone disease), myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness), depression, mental distress, history of muscular problems caused by corticosteroids, kidney & liver dysfunction (including hepatic insufficiency and cirrhosis), should consult a doctor before using Xendef-6 Tablet .  This medicine is not recommended for children less than 5 years of age, lactating mothers and pregnant women. Avoid going near people who are sick or infected while using Xendef-6 Tablet . Before taking Xendef-6 Tablet for at least, 4-6 weeks do not take any live vaccine as it may cause severe allergic reactions.

Co-administration of Xendef-6 Tablet and Desmopressin may increase the risk of hyponatremia (low levels of salt in the blood).

How to manage the interaction:
Although co- administration of Daflazacort with Desmopression can possibly lead to an interaction, it can be taken in case a doctor advices you. You should seek medical attention if you experience loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, headache, lethargy, irritability, difficulty in concentrating, memory impairment, confusion, muscle spasm, weakness, unsteadiness, decreased urination, or sudden weight gain. Although there is an interaction, Levofloxacin can be taken with Xendef-6 Tablet if prescribed by the doctor. Not recommended in mild allergies. Xendef-6 Tablet is recommended only on consulting a doctor as Xendef-6 Tablet is a strong medicine that produces considerable side effects & thus used only in moderate to severe cases.

It is not recommended to stop by a patient himself/herself, especially by a patient undergoing organ transplantation as it may worsen the situation.

It is not recommended to be taken Xendef-6 Tablet with alcohol as it may cause stomach bleeding.

No its is not recommended to be used in seasonal allergy or mild cases. Only on doctors consultation, Xendef-6 Tablet may be used in extreme cases of seasonal allergy.

You should not use Xendef-6 Tablet if you have taken live vaccines of mumps, measles, rubella (MMR), polio, rotavirus, yellow fever, typhoid, nasal flu (influenza), varicella (chickenpox), and zoster (shingles). Do not take Xendef-6 Tablet if you have a compromised immune system, eye problems or weak bones.

Special Advise
