Zincoderm Cream 15 gm belongs to the class of dermatological medication primarily used to treat skin infections like dermatitis (itchy, dry skin or rash), psoriasis, eczema (inflamed, itchy, cracked and rough skin patches) and allergies. Skin infection occurs when a foreign microorganism like fungus or bacteria invades the skin and affects the tissue on the skin. Psoriasis is a skin disorder in which skin cells multiply and form bumpy (uneven) red patches covered with white scales.

Zincoderm Cream 15 gm consists of two medicines, namely: Clobetasol (corticosteroid) and Zinc sulfate (antiseptic and astringent). Clobetasol is a highly potent ‘corticosteroid’ with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic (relieves itching) and vasoconstrictive (narrows blood vessels) properties. It blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers), which make the skin red, swollen and itchy. On the other hand, Zinc sulfate is antiseptic and astringent. It is topically used for healing skin wounds and ulcers. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and relieves the redness, irritation and scars caused by acne. Zinc sulfate cleanses the skin, tightens pores and reduces oil production. It also has peeling and antioxidant effects.

Zincoderm Cream 15 gm is for external use only. Use this medication on the skin only as advised by the doctor. Zincoderm Cream 15 gm is generally safe to use. Some may experience common side effects like burning, irritation, itching, redness and thinning of skin at the application site. Most of these side effects of Zincoderm Cream 15 gm do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. If these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

Avoid contact with your eyes, nose or mouth while using Zincoderm Cream 15 gm. Rinse it off with water thoroughly if you get the medicine in these areas. Brief your medical history to the doctor if you are allergic to Zincoderm Cream 15 gm or any of its components. Let your doctor know if you have any medical history of liver, or kidney diseases, glaucoma, cataract, poor blood circulation, immune system problems, diabetes and adrenal gland diseases. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should use Zincoderm Cream 15 gm with proper consultation and caution. Zincoderm Cream 15 gm is not recommended for children less than 12 years of age.

Let your doctor know if you have a history of liver, kidney diseases, glaucoma, cataract, poor blood circulation, immune system problems, diabetes and adrenal gland diseases before starting Zincoderm Cream 15 gm. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should use Zincoderm Cream 15 gm only with proper doctor consultation and caution. Avoid contact of Zincoderm Cream 15 gm with eyes, nose and mouth.
