ZINCODERM M CREAM is a combination of three drugs, namely Clobetasol, Miconazole, and Zinc sulfate. Clobetasol acts inside skin cells and inhibits certain chemical messenger's release in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. Miconazole causes holes in the fungal cell membranes and kills fungi. Zinc sulfate is antiseptic and astringent that heals skin wounds and ulcers.
ZINCODERM M CREAM is for topical (for skin use) application only. Avoid ZINCODERM M CREAM contact with eyes, nose, and mouth. Do not put a bandage or a dressing on the affected area while using ZINCODERM M CREAM unless advised by the doctor.
ZINCODERM M CREAM should be used with proper caution and doctor consultation if you have any active infections, history of liver, kidney diseases, glaucoma, cataract, poor blood circulation, immune system problems, diabetes, and adrenal gland diseases.
ZINCODERM M CREAM consists of Clobetasol, a corticosteroid that affects blood sugar levels. It is advised to consult your doctor before using ZINCODERM M CREAM and monitor your blood sugar levels regularly.
ZINCODERM M CREAM is not recommended for diaper rash since Clobetasol may be rapidly absorbed and can cause adrenal suppression, Cushing's syndrome (high cortisol levels), and intracranial hypertension (increased pressure around the brain) in infants. Your baby's pediatrician will suggest other medicines for the treatment of diaper rash.
ZINCODERM M CREAM, when used for longer periods, can cause thinning and weakening of the skin. Please stop using ZINCODERM M CREAM and immediately consult your doctor if you notice these symptoms.
ZINCODERM M CREAM should be used with caution in children if prescribed by a doctor as ZINCODERM M CREAM contains a steroid and may increase the risk of Cushing’s syndrome, HPA axis suppression (suppression of inflammatory and immune responses), adrenal insufficiency, delayed growth, and weight gain. However, please consult a doctor before using ZINCODERM M CREAM in children.

About ZINCODERM M CREAM
ZINCODERM M CREAM is a dermatological combination medication used to reduce swelling, itching, and redness caused due to certain fungal skin infections. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the skin tissue and causes infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another).
ZINCODERM M CREAM contains Clobetasol (corticosteroid), Miconazole (antifungal), and Zinc sulfate (antiseptic and astringent). Clobetasol belongs to the class of corticosteroids that works by acting inside skin cells and inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. When the skin reacts to any allergens, such chemicals are released normally. The fungal cell membranes are essential for their survival as they prevent the entry of unwanted substances into the cells and stop the leakage of cell contents. Miconazole works by causing holes in the fungal cell membranes and kills fungi. Zinc sulfate has anti-inflammatory properties and relieves the redness, irritation, and scars caused by acne.
ZINCODERM M CREAM is only for external use. Take a small amount of ZINCODERM M CREAM on the finger and apply it as a thin layer on the clean and dry affected area. Avoid contact of ZINCODERM M CREAM with nose, ears, mouth, or eyes. In case ZINCODERM M CREAM comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience dry skin, itching, irritation, redness, or burning sensation at the application site. Most of these side effects of ZINCODERM M CREAM do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are known to be allergic to ZINCODERM M CREAM or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using ZINCODERM M CREAM. Do not use ZINCODERM M CREAM in more than prescribed doses or for prolonged periods as it may cause adverse effects. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with bandages unless your doctor advises. Avoid using ZINCODERM M CREAM for more than five days in children and on the face. Do not apply ZINCODERM M CREAM to broken skin or cuts. Do not swallow ZINCODERM M CREAM. In case of accidental swallowing, contact a nearby poison control centre or consult a doctor immediately. Avoid smoking or going near naked flames, as the ZINCODERM M CREAM catches fire and burns easily. If you have glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes, psoriasis, adrenal gland, or liver problems, inform your doctor before taking ZINCODERM M CREAM.
