How does the disease interact with Rite-HB Tablet:
Achlorhydria: Gastric acidity boosts iron bioavailability by retaining the ingested iron in reduced forms as ferrous ions, which get absorbed more quickly than ferric ions. As a result, during oral iron therapy, patients with impaired stomach acid production may require higher doses. In addition, a liquid formulation is advisable as the disintegration of the tablet coating is dependent on appropriate gastric acidity.

How to manage the interaction:
When oral iron therapy is given, higher doses may be necessary for patients with decreased gastric acid production. Also, a liquid formulation is recommended in these patients as the dissolution of the tablet coating depends on normal gastric acidity.
