Drug Warnings

Sensitex-5 Tablet should not be taken if you are allergic to it. Inform your physician if you are using any medicines other than Sensitex-5 Tablet and if you are pregnant/breastfeeding. Sensitex-5 Tablet should be used with caution in patients who are allergic to sunlight, porphyria, heart disease, liver diseases, stomach problems, cataracts, skin cancers and lupus erythematosus condition. Sensitex-5 Tablet is also used with caution in recent treatment with x-rays or cancer medicines or plans to have x-rays in the near future as it may increase your chance of skin cancer.

Directions for Use

Sensitex-5 Tablet can be taken with meals or milk. Avoid taking in larger or smaller amounts than advised. Swallow it as a whole with a full glass of water. Do not chew or crush the medicine.

Sensitex-5 Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called photosensitizers. It is used along with ultraviolet light for the treatment of vitiligo. Vitiligo is a skin condition in which the skin loses colour (melanocytes). This can result in discoloured patches in different areas of the body, including the skin, hair, and mucous membranes.

Sensitex-5 Tablet contains “trioxsalen”, which is a photosensitive medication used along with UV-A rays. It works by activating certain skin cells (melanocytes) and helps to re-pigment the discoloured and white patches.

Sensitex-5 Tablet should be taken as advised by your physician. The dose and course of this medicine will be decided by your doctor based on your health condition. Sensitex-5 Tablet may cause certain common side effects like erythema (skin redness), blisters on the skin, edema (swelling), and itching. These side effects resolve on their own. However, if it persists, stop using Sensitex-5 Tablet and consult your physician.
