Drug Warnings

If you are allergic to Watnil Solution or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Watnil Solution. Avoid applying to surrounding healthy skin, especially in children as it may irritate. You need not cover the treated area with sticking plaster. Avoid contact of Watnil Solution with normal skin, nose, mouth, eyes, breasts, armpits, or genital area. In case Watnil Solution comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Do not apply Watnil Solution on moles, birthmarks, warts with hairs growing from them, or any other spots. Avoid smoking or going near naked flames as they can catch fire and burn easily. Do not apply Watnil Solution on cuts, grazes, and broken skin. You are advised to gently rub warts, verrucas, calluses, and corns with a pumice stone or emery board once every week before applying Watnil Solution freshly. Avoid contact of Watnil Solution with fabrics, clothes, jewellery, metal, or polished surfaces as it may permanently damage them. If you have diabetes or blood circulation problems, inform your doctor before using Watnil Solution.

Side Effects of Watnil Solution

  • Itching
  • Scaling
  • Skin dryness
  • Mild tingling sensation

Directions for Use

Wash your hands before and after applying Watnil Solution. You are advised to soak the affected area in warm water for 2-3 minutes and let it dry thoroughly. Apply a thin coating of Watnil Solution to the top of warts, verrucas, calluses and corns only. Then let it dry for a few minutes to form a small white patch that is water-resistant and sticks to the treated area. The next evening, before applying Watnil Solution, carefully peel off the white patch and repeat the same process. Avoid contact of Watnil Solution with normal skin, nose, mouth, eyes, breasts, armpits or genital area. In case Watnil Solution comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly.

Medicinal Benefits

Watnil Solution is a combination of two keratolytic agents: Lactic acid and Salicylic acid used in the treatment of skin conditions like warts and the removal of calluses and corns. Watnil Solution breaks down and dissolves a skin protein known as keratin and removes dead skin cells, thereby softening skin. Lactic acid also possesses antiviral properties and kills the virus that causes verrucas and warts.

About Watnil Solution

Watnil Solution belongs to a class of drugs called 'keratolytic agents' used to treat skin conditions like warts and remove calluses and corns. Verrucas and warts are small excessive growths of skin that are caused by a virus. Warts occur on the back of hands or fingers whereas verrucas occur only on the sole. Corns and calluses are thick, hard pads of skin caused by friction and pressure that usually occur on the feet due to poor-fitting shoes.

Watnil Solution is a combination of two keratolytic agents, namely: Lactic acid and Salicylic acid. Watnil Solution works by breaking down a skin protein known as keratin and removes dead skin cells, thereby softening skin. Watnil Solution acts as an acid exfoliant that softens and dissolves the keratin. Besides this, it also helps to slow down the shedding of skin, thereby allowing the skin to function longer before flaking off. Thus, Watnil Solution softens and dissolves keratin (skin protein) and prevents acne formation and further bacterial skin infections.

Use Watnil Solution as advised by your doctor. Watnil Solution is only for external use. You are advised to use Watnil Solution for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. Some people may experience a burning sensation, itching, scaling, skin dryness, mild tingling sensation, or tenderness at the application site. Most of these side effects of Watnil Solution do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Watnil Solution or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a breastfeeding mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Watnil Solution. Avoid applying to surrounding healthy skin, especially in children as it may irritate. You need not cover the treated area with sticking plaster. Avoid smoking or going near naked flames as they can catch fire and burn easily. Do not apply Watnil Solution on cuts, grazes, and broken skin.
