About Anadom Tablet

Anadom Tablet is a combination medicine used for the symptomatic treatment of migraine, and any medical condition with concomitant nausea/vomiting and fever/pain. Migraine is a neurological condition that can cause severe throbbing pain or a pulsing sensation, usually on one side of the head, eyes, face, and neck. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, difficulty speaking, numbness or tingling, and sensitivity to light and sound.

Anadom Tablet is a combination of two drugs, namely: Domperidone and Paracetamol. Domperidone prevents nausea and vomiting symptoms by blocking certain receptors (like dopamine and serotonin) that stimulate the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone –CTZ) located in the brain. It also acts as a prokinetic agent that increases the upper gastrointestinal tract's motility and helps in decreasing the stomach emptying time. Paracetamol is an NSAID that works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger in your body, known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical ‘prostaglandins’(PG). These prostaglandins are produced at injury sites and cause pain and swelling. By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser PGs are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.

Take Anadom Tablet as prescribed. Your doctor will recommend how often you take Anadom Tablet based on your medical condition. Some people may experience some side effects, dry mouth, skin rash, anxiety, diarrhoea, and drowsiness. Most of these side effects of Anadom Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

You can increase the efficacy of Anadom Tablet by taking a small meal or snacks frequently. Do not take Anadom Tablet if you are allergic to Anadom Tablet and other medicines. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to inform your doctor before taking Anadom Tablet . Inform your doctor if you have heart, kidney, and liver disease. Prolonged intake of Anadom Tablet may be associated with an increased risk of heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia) and cardiac arrest (heart attack). This risk may be more likely in the elderly (those over 60 years old) or taking a higher dose. If you experience heart rhythm disorders like palpitations, trouble in breathing, or loss of consciousness after taking Anadom Tablet , immediately contact your doctor.

Tablet: Take it on empty stomach or as advised by a doctor. Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or break it.Suspension: Shake the bottle well before use. Check the label for directions and take it with or without food in doses as prescribed by a doctor with the help of a measuring cup.

Drug Warnings

Do not take Anadom Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents or any other medicines, have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, heart disease, liver/ kidney problem. Prolonged intake of Anadom Tablet may be associated with an increased risk of heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia) and cardiac arrest (heart attack). So, if you experience heart rhythm disorders like palpitations, trouble in breathing, or loss of consciousness after taking Anadom Tablet , immediately contact your doctor. This risk may be more likely in the elderly (those over 60 years old) or taking a higher dose. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, inform your doctor before using Anadom Tablet . Avoid consumption of alcohol while using Anadom Tablet as it may increase the side effects and make worse your condition. Anadom Tablet should not be given to children below five years of age. The use of Anadom Tablet is safe in children above five years of age if prescribed by the doctor. Do not exceed dose paracetamol more than 4 gm per day as it can damage your liver.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Eat a healthy diet and a low-fat diet, especially in small portions, as it will be easy for digestion. Avoid eating over sweet food and include more salty food, especially if you have been vomiting.
  • Also, if you like vomiting at a specific time, avoid eating your favorite food at that particular time as your taste for that food may get turned off.
  • Include more cool beverages in your food like clear soup, flavored gelatin, carbonated beverages. Also, when you drink with a stray, sip slowly to avoid swallowing air that may lead to gas and acidity.

It is best to avoid alcohol while taking Anadom Tablet as it can make damage to your liver.

Yes, Anadom Tablet can cause dry mouth. In case you feel excessively thirsty, please increase your fluid intake and do frequent mouth rinses.
