About Apregen 125 mg/80 mg Kit 1's

Apregen 125 mg/80 mg Kit 1's belongs to a class of drugs called anti-emetics. It is used in combination with other medicines to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy (anti-cancer medicines) in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and above. Nausea is a feeling of uneasiness in the stomach that often comes before vomiting. On the other hand, vomiting is the forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of stomach contents through the mouth.

Apregen 125 mg/80 mg Kit 1's contains Aprepitant, a neurokinin 1 (NK1) receptor antagonist which works by blocking the neurokinin-1 receptor (causes the feeling of sickness) present in the vomiting centre in the brain. Thus, it helps prevent nausea and vomiting. 

Take Apregen 125 mg/80 mg Kit 1's as prescribed. You are recommended to take Apregen 125 mg/80 mg Kit 1's for as long as your doctor has advised it. How does the disease interact with Apregen 125 mg/80 mg Kit:
The liver is primarily responsible for Apregen 125 mg/80 mg Kit metabolism. Apregen 125 mg/80 mg Kit was well tolerated in investigations of patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score 5 to 9), and no clinically significant changes in its pharmacokinetics were seen. As a result, there is no need to change the dosage of Apregen 125 mg/80 mg Kit in this patient population. Apregen 125 mg/80 mg Kit should be used with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score > 9), as there is no clinical or pharmacokinetic data in this population.

Apregen 125 mg/80 mg Kit is metabolized by the liver, hence it is usually not recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease as it can increase the Apregen 125 mg/80 mg Kit level in the body.
