Cipanec Tablet belongs to a group of antiretroviral medicines indicated for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and children weighing at least 35kgs. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the immune system and destroys the white blood cells that help in fighting infection, making the individual susceptible to other infections or illnesses.
 
Cipanec Tablet contains Dolutegravir (integrase inhibitor), Lamivudine (nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor), and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor). Dolutegravir increases the immune cells that help fight infections in the body and decreases the amount of HIV in the blood. Lamivudine and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate work by interfering with the working of nucleotide and nucleoside reverse transcriptase enzymes which are necessary for the reproduction of the virus. Together, Cipanec Tablet helps in treating HIV infection.
 
You are advised to take Cipanec Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as fatigue, diarrhoea, headache, pain, rash, depression, fever, cough, and insomnia. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
 
Practise safe sex and other necessary precautions as Cipanec Tablet does not prevent the spread of HIV infection. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy. Avoid breastfeeding while taking Cipanec Tablet . Cipanec Tablet may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Cipanec Tablet is not recommended for children weighing below 35 kg. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and the medicines you are taking to prevent any side effects/interactions.

Do not take Cipanec Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components. • Get HIV test done for at least every 3 months.
• Regular kidney and liver function tests, bone mineral density test while taking Cipanec Tablet is advised. 
• Cipanec Tablet might affect laboratory test results; inform the person doing the tests that you are taking Cipanec Tablet .
• Regularly get blood and urine tests done while taking Cipanec Tablet .
