DEXAMETHASONE-4MGOther and unspecified infectious diseases
Severe
How does the disease interact with Decamycin Injection 2 ml:
Corticosteroids' immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory properties, especially when used in larger doses, have the potential to reduce host resistance to pathogens, impair the capacity to localise infections, and disguise infection-related symptoms. Perhaps secondary infections are more prone to occur. In general, corticosteroids should not be administered to patients with active infections, particularly systemic fungal infections, unless absolutely essential for medical reasons and after effective antimicrobial medication or another suitable course of treatment has been started.

How to manage the interaction:
Corticosteroids, particularly in higher dosages, may decrease host resistance to infectious agents, decrease the ability to localize infections, and mask the symptoms of infection.
DEXAMETHASONE-4MGDisorders related to short gestation and low birth weight, not elsewhere classified
Severe
How does the disease interact with Decamycin Injection 2 ml:

How to manage the interaction:
Patients with cirrhosis should be monitored more closely for excessive cortisol effects.
DEXAMETHASONE-4MGOther mental disorders due to brain damage and dysfunction and to physical disease

DEXAMETHASONE-4MGUnspecified diabetes mellitus
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Decamycin Injection 2 ml:
By opposing the effect of insulin and inhibiting its production, corticosteroids can increase blood sugar levels. This inhibits peripheral glucose absorption and increases gluconeogenesis. Patients with diabetes mellitus, glucose intolerance, or a tendency for hyperglycemia should receive corticosteroid therapy with caution. During corticosteroid medication, patients with diabetes mellitus should be evaluated more carefully, and their anti-diabetic regimen should be changed correspondingly.

How to manage the interaction:
Patients with diabetes mellitus should be monitored more closely during corticosteroid therapy, and their antidiabetic regimen adjusted accordingly.
