About Fosapp 150Mg Injection

Fosapp 150Mg Injection belongs to a class of drugs called anti-emetics. It is used in combination with other medicines to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy (anti-cancer medicines) in patients six months of age and above. Nausea is a feeling of uneasiness in the stomach that often comes before vomiting. On the other hand, vomiting is the forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of stomach contents through the mouth.

Fosapp 150Mg Injection contains Aprepitant, a neurokinin 1 (NK1) receptor antagonist which works by blocking neurokinin-1 receptors (causes the feeling of sickness) present in the vomiting centre in the brain. Thus, it helps prevent nausea and vomiting.

Fosapp 150Mg Injection will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. In some cases, Fosapp 150Mg Injection may cause common side effects such as weakness, tiredness, diarrhoea, urinary tract infection, pain in arms and legs, or indigestion. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, consult your doctor immediately if the side effects persist or worsen.

If you are allergic to Fosapp 150Mg Injection or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Fosapp 150Mg Injection is not recommended for children below six months of age. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Fosapp 150Mg Injection. Drive only if you are alert after receiving Fosapp 150Mg Injection. If you are taking other prescription or non-prescription medicines, inform your doctor before taking Fosapp 150Mg Injection.

APREPITANT-150MGAlcoholic liver disease
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Fosapp 150Mg Injection:
The liver is primarily responsible for Fosapp 150Mg Injection metabolism. Fosapp 150Mg Injection was well tolerated in investigations of patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score 5 to 9), and no clinically significant changes in its pharmacokinetics were seen. As a result, there is no need to change the dosage of Fosapp 150Mg Injection in this patient population. Fosapp 150Mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score > 9), as there is no clinical or pharmacokinetic data in this population.

How to manage the interaction:
Fosapp 150Mg Injection is metabolized by the liver, hence it is usually not recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease as it can increase the Fosapp 150Mg Injection level in the body. Increased levels can increase the risk and severity of Fosapp 150Mg Injection side effects. However, you can take it when advised by your doctor. If you experience headache, fatigue, low appetite, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, and hiccups contact your doctor immediately. Do not discontinue any medications without first consulting your doctor.
