Fycef D 200mg/500mg Tablet belongs to a class of drugs called antibiotics used to treat several bacterial infections of the urinary tract, ears, nose, throat, chest, and lungs. A bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grow in the body and cause infection. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. Fycef D 200mg/500mg Tablet does not work against infections caused by the virus.

Fycef D 200mg/500mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics, namely: Cefixime and Dicloxacillin.  Fycef D 200mg/500mg Tablet works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) that is necessary for their survival. Thereby damages the bacterial cell wall and kills bacteria.

Take Fycef D 200mg/500mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Fycef D 200mg/500mg Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. You may experience vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, indigestion, or vaginal itching in some cases. Most of these side effects of Fycef D 200mg/500mg Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Fycef D 200mg/500mg Tablet, penicillins, or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Fycef D 200mg/500mg Tablet. Dicloxacillin may reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills. Therefore, discuss with your doctor about other contraceptive methods such as using non-hormonal birth control measures such as condoms, spermicide, or diaphragm to avoid pregnancy while taking Fycef D 200mg/500mg Tablet. Drive only if you are alert as Fycef D 200mg/500mg Tablet may reduce alertness or cause confusion. You are recommended to complete the full course of Fycef D 200mg/500mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor for effective results.

• Inform your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin.
