Ofloxamac Eye Drops 10 ml works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, kills bacteria and clears the infection.

You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using Ofloxamac Eye Drops 10 ml as it contains benzalkonium chloride, a preservative that changes the colour of contact lens as it may be absorbed by soft contact lens. Benzalkonium chloride also causes irritation in the eye especially if you have disorders of cornea (transparent layer at the front of eye) or dry eyes. Therefore, you are advised to remove contact lenses before using Ofloxamac Eye Drops 10 ml and reinsert them after 15 minutes after using Ofloxamac Eye Drops 10 ml. Also, inform your doctor if you experience pain, stinging or abnormal sensation in the eye after using Ofloxamac Eye Drops 10 ml.

Ofloxamac Eye Drops 10 ml may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. Therefore, you are recommended to wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating machinery.

Ofloxamac Eye Drops 10 ml is not used to treat fungal infection in the eye. Ofloxamac Eye Drops 10 ml is only used to treat bacterial eye infections.

Ofloxamac Eye Drops 10 ml belongs to the class of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial eye infections including conjunctivitis and ulcers of the cornea. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid.

Directions for Use

Ofloxamac Eye Drops 10 ml is for ophthalmic use only. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using Ofloxamac Eye Drops 10 ml. Do not touch the container’s tip to the eye, eyelids, or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Ofloxamac Eye Drops 10 ml.Eye drops: Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Replace the outer cap after use. Eye ointment: Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Squeeze a tiny amount of the ointment into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.
