Patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) who were taking Tecifidera 240 mg Capsule experienced progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML). PML is an opportunistic viral infection of the brain brought on by the John Cunningham virus (JC virus), and it typically results in death or severe disability. For patients with MS, caution and monitoring are advised. When a patient exhibits the first PML symptom or sign, Tecifidera 240 mg Capsule should be discontinued and a proper diagnostic examination should be carried out.

Tecifidera 240 mg Capsule should be withheld at the first sign/symptom suggestive of Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML-a viral infection) and an appropriate diagnostic evaluation should be performed.
